The click through in the left panel takes you to an article I wrote for the NIDA NEWS in 2007. The article deals with many of the challenges faced by Voice Coaches working in a multilingual communication environment.
I taught at and was Head of Voice at AFDA from 1997 to the end of 2001, and I worked extensively at the SABC as a freelance voice coach from 1997 until 2007, mostly with broadcast journalists, and also with the continuity presenters on SABC 1. These experiences form most of the basis for the article.
Why did I write for the NIDA NEWS? I studied voice at NIDA in 1996, and I am planning to return to NIDA to do my Masters in the field in 2009. So when I saw a voice article in one of the previous issues, I jumped at the opportunity to write one myself. I hope you enjoy it.
